Drink in the Poison: Richard Notkin

It's easy to see these simply as an interesting craft and nothing more, but the idea that a piece of art can be a physical vessel, a carrier of peace and tranquilty, while simultaneously being a powerful symbol of our outside world sends shivers down my spine. The thought of ingesting Tea, through the visual means of our own destruction is about as close to perfect as ART can reach. It goes beyond mere object and directly pours it's viral message into the host. Peace and Meditation are illusions we try create as way to block out reality. So drink it in, poison the well, and then do something about.

*Thanks Jess!
